Sara Marantz received a MM degree in piano performance from New England Conservatory of Music and a BM in piano performance from Georgia College and State University.Sara is a part of the adjunct music faculty at Dallas Baptist University, where she teaches accompanying and serves as the Coordinator of Accompanist Activities. In that capacity, she enjoys an active career as a collaborative pianist, in recital with students, faculty, and guest performers. She also serves as the pianist for the DBU Chorale, under the direction of Dr. Stephen Holcomb. The Chorale is the select performing and touring group within the choral department, and has been privileged to perform in venues such as The National Cathedral in Washington, DC, as well as the Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, France. Sara currently serves as a pianist at Hillcrest Baptist Church, Cedar Hill, TX, where, in addition to her accompanist duties, she has directed both handbell and vocal ensembles. Prior to this, she was the pianist for Duncanville's First Baptist Church for seventeen years, where she also served as coordinator of the children's choir program. Sara is a member of TMTA, and is an active participant in the activities of her local association, DSMTA, where she is currently serving on the board as the Student Affiliate chairperson. She has maintained a private piano studio since 1985, and currently has a studio in her home in Cedar Hill, Texas. She is also in demand as a solo pianist, performing regularly in the DFW Metroplex area. She enjoys a career as a collaborative pianist in the Dallas area, as well, performing with visiting artists, students, schools, churches, and various musical organizations. She has recently served as pianist and musical associate for several musicals produced by area community organizations, such as First Baptist Church of Dallas, and the city of Grand Prairie, performing "Fiddler on the Roof" and "Little Women – The Musical". |
